Today, we’re looking at eco-friendly brand, Alexandra Hakim, and her extraordinary jewellery line that transforms discarded objects into wearable pieces.

Making old new again, is British Lebanese jewellery designer, Alexandra Hakim’s ethos when it comes to creating pieces for her collections. If you aren’t versed in her jewellery, it can be a bit of a shock upon finding out that her pieces were once rubbish, waste and discarded materials, which have been skilfully transformed into stylish and wearable pieces. All of the quotidian objects that Alexandra works with tell a different story, and her inspiration can be drawn from the most unlikely objects, like a tomato stem from Beirut’s bustling markets, to debris found after a deadly sandstorm, all objects are repurposed into contemporary pieces of jewellery.

Known for her innovative craftsmanship, thought-provoking designs and genuine dedication to sustainability, her work has featured in fashion shoots for Vogue Italia and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia. Launching her eponymous brand in Beirut in 2016, Alexandra’s pieces have gained a cult international following, making waves as she spearheads a predominately male industry, with thanks to her technical prowess and unique methods.
