The Many Flavors of Alexandra Hakim
Just in time for summer! Spice up your outfits with interesting pieces by Beirut-based jewelry designer and maker Alexandra Hakim! These hand-made fine and contemporary jewels are the newest craze; whether it’s baby tomatoes on your ears or a chili pepper dangling from your neck, everyone wants a piece of Hakim.
After having graduated from Central Saint Martins and the Rhode Island School of Design, Alexandra launched her own brand of Art Jewellery as well as more wearable collections, often based on wasted materials. “The common denominator of my Jewellery is that all of the pieces are made from wasted materials that have lost their function after use. What’s next for Alexandra? She’s recently been working on a collaboration with fashion designer HassIdriss, who’s also a Central Saint Martins graduate, challenging the boundaries of scale, color and material in jewelry. We can’t wait to discover this SS18 collection that will be revealed in April! Alexandra finally launched her website, designed by her and art director Melissa Haddad: http://alexandrahakim.co
